I thought I'd keep the indian theme going, Posted a pic of Ganesh a while ago, anyway!, did this some time ago for a pitch for a PC game of the Ramayana for the Asian market.
This stuff got rejected and it's always interesting when you hear the reasons why something got rejected.
The clients thought this was way too western looking, they wanted something a bit more cutsey and roundy, they didn't like the fire at Sita's feet, immolation is still a touchy subject in India, Ravana was too far from the basic concept, he's got 10 heads but I gave him 1 head with the features of 10, well as near as 10 as I could get away with.
So I did some cutsey stuff which they loved and the pitch like 99% of pitches got no further

Your'e lucky Iv'e seen Sita Sings the Blues(Which is an excellent indie animated movie, that I only knew about because the Nostalgia Chick mentioned it), or else I PROBABLY would have skipped over this lol
This is pretty badass, especially Hanuman.

I've seen Sita sings the blue's, wonderful little film and if nothing else got me into 20's jazz.

Tis all about profits is it not? Regardless this stuff looks really good. Would make for an interesting animation if anything.
